Role Overview

As the Head of Strategy & Operations, you will play a crucial role in shaping Battle Creek Games’ long-term strategic vision and day-to-day operational excellence. You’ll collaborate closely with the CEO, COO, and cross-functional leaders to set OKRs, drive forecast revisions, and track key performance metrics across our portfolio. You will also be hands-on in analyzing product data, identifying market opportunities, and ensuring that our teams have the resources and clarity they need to deliver successful game updates and launches.This position is perfect for someone who excels at synthesizing data into actionable insights, orchestrating cross-team initiatives, and implementing scalable operational processes. You’ll help turn high-level goals into tangible results—keeping everyone aligned and focused on what matters most.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning & Execution
    • Collaborate with CEO/COO to define and refine the company’s long-term objectives and key strategies.
    • Translate strategic goals into OKRs, ensuring every team has measurable, time-bound targets.
  • Data & Analytics Oversight
    • Dive into game performance metrics, user engagement data, and market trends to inform strategic decisions and identify new growth opportunities.
    • Work closely with the Analytics Lead to develop regular reporting cadences and data dashboards that highlight KPIs, forecast revisions, and risk areas.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Lead regular check-ins and review cycles (monthly, quarterly) to monitor progress against OKRs and forecasts.
    • Identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies in the development process; propose solutions and implement them with the relevant stakeholders.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment
    • Coordinate with game leads, marketing, and product teams to ensure alignment on priorities, timelines, and budget.
    • Facilitate effective communication between departments, hosting alignment meetings and championing a transparent work culture.
  • Forecasting & Financial Modeling
    • Oversee revenue, user acquisition, and budget forecasts, updating models based on market shifts and product performance.
    • Present regular financial and operational insights to executive leadership, highlighting risks and recommending adjustments.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Develop frameworks and processes (e.g., project retrospectives, post-mortems) to capture lessons learned and refine operational best practices.
    • Drive a culture of iterative improvement, using data-driven insights to evolve everything from production workflows to monetization strategies.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in strategy, operations, consulting, or a related field—preferably within gaming, tech, or a data-focused industry.
  • Proven track record of setting and managing OKRs, developing strategic roadmaps, and overseeing cross-functional initiatives.
  • Expertise in data analytics, including familiarity with BI tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI) and advanced Excel/Google Sheets modeling.
  • Strong communication skills—ability to convey complex data or strategic insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership in driving organizational change, improving processes, and fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of user engagement, monetization, and live operations is highly desirable.
