Role Overview

As a Community Manager, you’ll be the primary voice of Battle Creek Games to our player base. You will oversee our social media channels, Discord servers, and community forums—fostering an environment where players feel heard, informed, and excited to be part of our gaming universe. You’ll partner with marketing, product, and development teams to ensure community feedback is effectively captured and incorporated into live-ops strategies and game updates. This role is perfect for someone who loves engaging with players, solving problems, and cultivating positive, lasting relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Community Engagement & Growth
    • Manage daily interactions across social media, Discord, and other community platforms.
    • Develop creative initiatives—such as contests, Q&As, and live streams—to grow and energize the community.
  • Player Advocacy
    • Monitor discussions to identify emerging issues, player sentiment, and feature requests.
    • Collaborate with production and development teams to relay key community feedback and ensure the player perspective is considered.
  • Content Planning & Execution
    • Work with the marketing team to schedule and publish social media content, aligning with upcoming patches, promotions, and live events.
    • Craft engaging posts, announcements, and patch notes that keep players informed and excited about what’s next.
  • Crisis Management
    • Address community concerns, technical issues, and player escalations promptly and tactfully.
    • Develop and maintain guidelines for moderation and player communication to uphold a respectful online environment.
  • Analytics & Reporting
    • Track metrics such as engagement, sentiment, and retention driven by community activities.
    • Compile regular reports for leadership and cross-functional teams, highlighting community trends and actionable insights.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with game designers, engineers, and QA to coordinate playtests, gather feedback, and share updates with the community.
    • Collaborate with the UA/marketing teams to align community growth campaigns with paid acquisition strategies.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in community management, social media management, or related roles in the gaming industry (or a passion for gaming communities).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences.
  • Demonstrated empathy and tact when engaging with diverse player communities and managing escalations.
  • Familiarity with Discord, major social media platforms, and community engagement tools.
  • Bonus: Experience with data analytics (e.g., social listening tools, sentiment analysis) or live-operated mobile games.
  • Passion for gaming—especially in the racing, off-road, or simulation genres—is highly valued.
